— Welcome to this week’s Episode of AudioTrek … High Falls, GA

High Falls, GA. … is about an hour South of Atlanta just a few minutes off the Interstate. In the early 1800s, High Falls was a busy industrial town with several stores, a grist mill, cotton gin, blacksmith shop, shoe factory and hotel. The town fell from prosperity in the 1880s when a major railroad bypassed the town.

Today above the dam is the recreational High Falls Lake which is known for it’s great fishing and recreational boating. Below the dam is a large rocky flat area that leads to the cascading High Falls. In November, the water flow was pretty good as there were several different sections of the cascade flowing. I do like the visual of multiple areas of water movement, and the sounds of water falling is more defined.

So, enjoy the sounds of this waterfall and the visuals of all various cascades!
