— Welcome to this week’s Episode of AudioTrek … Clouds Viewed from the Beach on Klein Bonaire, Bonaire, Leeward Antilles.

Today we are at the Island of Bonaire which is a part of the Dutch ABC Islands (that’s Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao) just off the coast of Venezuela. This trek was an easy one… got off the ship, turned left on the dock and got onto an expedition water taxi.

We headed over to the island of Klein Bonaire or “Little Bonaire”. After a 30-minute trip we were dropped off on the beach. This Island is completely protected and undeveloped, no infrastructure of any kind exists. Consisting of just over 1,500 acres with a max elevation of about 2 meters, the Island is part of the Bonaire National Marine Park.

What’s special here? The water, the sand, and the coral reefs that are abundant with sea life (basically lots of fishes). While snorkeling, even the smallest “chunks” of coral maybe a square yard were surrounded by fish.

With the clear water and current that would just carry you over the coral it was just a beautiful place to snorkel and visit. So, come on and join me on this beautiful stretch of tropical beach!

… Relax. Explore. Meditate. Sleep.
