— Welcome to this week’s episode of AudioTrek … Triple Falls in the Dupont State Recreation Area, North Carolina.
Hiking from the parking lot to triple falls started out easy… just a slight up hill along the river. It didn’t take long to turn into a steep climb. I saw a railing along the trail ahead and when I reached it, I had this amazing view into the canyon and the three falls. While I didn’t get down to the water, the sounds made it up the canyon wall.
After setting up I found a sort of stairway or bench built into the side of the trail, then proceeded to lay back and enjoy the sounds with a bit of sun on my face filtered by the leaves. During my time here, I had several conversations with the many groups of people hiking past. Everyone was breathing hard, but thoroughly enjoying themselves.
I love these areas where it is accessible for the average person to enjoy these sights and sounds. Located about an hour from Asheville, NC I’m pretty sure lots of folks make it up here.
So, until you have a chance to visit yourself, just relax and take in the experience!
